IKK
says Goodbye...
"Its been
such a long time, I think I should be going....and time
doesn't wait for me, it keeps on rolling....
Sail on - on a distant highway... I've gotta be chasing
a dream I've gotta be on my way....."
Im sad to announce that the Ice Kold Killaz have now shut
its doors. I know it came as as huge surprise to some of
our members, and I apologize for that, but life is an uncertain
thing, and the road branches in many directions.
I must say I have been extremely proud to have been a part
of this clan, and everything it has stood for in the 2 years
of its existence. I would like at this time, on the behalf
of the core members, to say THANK
YOU to everyone who played and stayed with us.
We truly appreciated the loyalty and it was a pleasure playing
with everyone. We all learned alot together.
I still remember being a newb looking for a home, and former
founding member PSYCHO opening his clans door, and the guys
opening their hearts. They have become a family to myself,
and I believe they feel the same way. I will always remember
the times we had here, the heartache, and the victories.
but most of all I will remember the most important thing:
The Friendships.
Those friendships we formed with each other are important
to me, and give me joy, and I am sure the rest feel the
same way. I hope that those friendships remain even though
we move on to other endeavors. Some of us will continue
playing together, some to different clans, others will fade
from the TFC scene. and I'm sure we will run into each other
once in a while and rehash the past. In fact I hope that
happens. But always remember we played this game the way
we saw it should be, in fun, friendship, and in gamesmanship.
IKK will always be dear to me, and I will never replace
the 2 years I spent here in my heart. it is going to be
strange NOT to have that tag in front of my name, I promise
you that. But never say never, as Gunnar would say.
So for the last time, I sign off as Co-leader and a member
of the Ice Kold Killaz. Heres to the future.
Great Game, IKK.

Week
of 11-11 thru 11-17...
Tomorrow
night the Ice Kold Killaz make their return to the Ironglove
League official as we take on The
Sovereign. SvN is the bastard offspring of Clan Canibal
sans HeadHunter and his tactical influence. I am curious
to see how we fare, especially on my personal favorite map...
Mulch_Trench! w00t!
On
the other league night we have SoL
- Scream Out Loud, in STA
Silver action. We have seen SoL in the past, and they seem
to still have the old re0built TNP core we last saw them
with. This should be interesting indeed.
Don't
forget league night practice always starts 2 hours prior
to match time.

GG
Bronze, GL and HF to Silver and the IGL...
IKK
successfully defended it's STA Bronze title for the 2nd
and final time this past week vs. Revolution
Clan. With that win, and with the league realigning
again anyway, we are once again dusting out our old STA
Silver locker. The whole IKK revival in the STA
has put us squarely in the middle of a lot of new faces.
Although 4 of the 6 Bronze teams we faced, plus many we
didn't, are joining us in Silver, there are only a smattering
of former opponents in this new 31 team division. Should
be very interesting to say the least...
Speaking
of new faces and new challenges, our first STA Silver opponent
will be [13]Superstition.
They are a relatively new clan, with not so relatively new
players. Our first ever win streak beyond 5 in a row, which
now stands a 6 games, is in serious jeopardy as we'll ceratinly
have to cross the paths of a few black cats, walk under some
ladders, and break some mirrors in order to grab our first
Silver "W" since May 21st. Should be one hell of
a brew-ha-ha!!
As
if STA Silver was not enough, IKK takes the plunge and finally
makes its way back to the Ironglove
League. Once again we put out the IKK doormat to the
"big dogs" of the IGL and the TFC community, in
hopes of repeating the success building that we experienced
as a 1+ year, veteran member of the league from May of 2000
through June of this year, before leaving the league as
a precursor to our summer "vacation" from 9v9
TFC league play. It's mighty nice to be home again, and
we start play on 11-11-01 on... mulch_trench!! Life is good.
:)
IKK
made it to Round 2 of the San
Dawgs Invitational III, before suffering an eliminating
loss at the hands of one of TFC's greatest clans in PF.Pyroclastic
Flow. It marked our first ever meeting against PF, even
though we were league-mates for over a year in the IGL.
I have to say, I think we shocked everyone in our performance,
but noone was shocked more than us. We hung in there for
a long time, even leading at some points, only to loose
in the end 160-110. It was a great match, and IKK will certainly
support the SDI in any future editions as well. Perhaps
we might even join the PFL-8
as we enjoy the format of this type of match play so well!
GG PF! GG SDI!

RSVP.
Tux optional...
Once
again the Ice Kold Killaz have been invited to the 3rd
San Dawgs Invitaional Tournament. IKK has proudly participated
in first 2 incarnations, and were more than happy to RSVP
to our good friends at SD in Xris, and the former |IKK|AssGoblin
himself.. SnakeEyez. Our first round match will be played
this Tursday evening @9PM Eastern vs. Clan Versus.
Don't
forget our upcoming scrims and practices. Sunday night we
have a scrim with our usual dance partner now, iR
@8PM Eastern. The maps to be scrimmed will be Openfire and
Canalzone2. This will help us prepare for our STA Bronze
Title defense against SoCal
the next evening. Don't forget, practice on gamenights is
always 2 hours prior to the match.
More
info about the SDi-3...
The map chosen for this tournament is Well. All participants
in every round will play the same map. It is 16 teams with
single elimination, and teams face off in one 45 minute
match per round. It's strictly 4O vs. 4D, with no attacking
whatsoever allowed between the two offensive teams. PB is
required for all rounds. The final 3 rounds will have all
matches played on SD's Dawg Pound server, with HLTV in use
and broadcasting of all matches in those rounds by GameCast
Radio. The winner will receive in addition to pride
and bragging rites, a custom created championship logo by,
IKK's very own, What_the_Hell? to display on their website.
Also, the winner will get $15,000 in "clan cash"
which is used by the sponsor the Ironglove
League, along with an invitation to join the IGL, if
not already a winner.

IKK
STA Bronze Champs!
IKK
made it's first nice achievement of its return bid, by beating
M| Mimic last night for the STA Bronze Title on Canalzone2.
An all cap in round 1 gave the team the cushion it needed
to settle in and win it all, especially considering the
round 2 rumblefest that Mimic came back with. GG to Mimic,
for a good solid match. GG to the IKK'ers...
Next
up in the STA Bronze, a title defense against SoCal, who
took out Clan CRACK in the Title Shot match. Once again
we get Canalzone2. Next stop... Silver?

STA
Bronze Title Shot...
IKK
has earned it's first title shot berth since the reactiviation
of the clan a few weeks ago in standard TFC league play.
This Monday night we face |DN|Deez
Nuttz on Monkey_l for a chance to play the winner of
the Knights of the Harsh Ream vs. The Lynch Mob for the
STA Bronze Title. Win or loose, the map the following week
will shift to Canalzone2, the old Valve capture point classic.
IKK
earned the right to play for the STA Bronze Title Shot by
defeating clan TiTz in a close one, by the total score of
30-20. Monkey_l can be a defensive wet-dream so we can expect
more of the same this week.
This
Sunday night we have scheduled a scrimmage for 8:30 PM Eastern.
The maps will be CZ2 and Openfire. The action actually begins
at 7:30 PM Eastern where the clan is required to assemble
in IRC. From there we will conduct a quick practice, in
order to cover position and class usage for the maps to
be played.
The
IKK website will be changing hosts in the near future. After
a brief discussion by the High Council, our current host,
Pro-gamers.com, cannot provide us the type of services we
desire. We have been with this web host for more than a
year now, and has provided us well considering the cost!
Look for the switch to take place officially sometime toward
the end of the month.

Baby
steps...
IKK
defeated nLv-No Longer Valid on shutdown by a total score
of 420-20 on Shutdown2 last week. This week looks to be
a tougher match against the The Intangible TFC Zealots,
or TiTz, as they like to cleverly refer to themselves. TiTz
has been around the block a few times, and are no pushovers.
Should be a great matchup on Monkey_l.
Practice
on match night is always 2 hours prior to the scheduled
start of the match. Which means that practice STARTS at
7:30 Eastern.

Mixed
Emotions...
Well,
in what should be a happy time for IKK, it's hard to be
truly happy. As the Ice Kold Killaz prepare to make their
return to full 9v9 league play this Monday night, the ever-haunting
memories of September 11th always seem to pop-up and set
my feet in firm reality.
As
it always seems to be, our country has now been forced into
action. Our imminent actions are polarizing the world as
much as it seems to be uniting it. Lately, and hopefully
in the future, words of reason have been spoken. Assuring
that this is not a war of ideals, cultures, or religions.
It's not the World vs. Islam. Islam has nothing to do with
our enemies. It's much more simpler than that in it's idealology.
It's Right vs. Wrong. It's Good vs. Evil. Make no mistake
however, the path to this point in time, and the road ahead,
is infinitely complex, and wrought with peril. The potential
for mistakes, for hypocrisy, chaos, confusion, and carnage,
for all these are much greater now than at any point in
history.
While
fear and anger grip at those of us relegated to watch the
news and go to our 9-to-5's, we must be more vigilant. All
the potential I spoke of earlier resides more within our
own borders, our cities, and our neighborhoods, than anywhere
else in the world. Every injustice, every lash of rage,
every misguided action htat occurs in our own country will
be more closely scrutinized and magnified, and have larger
ramifications for the world. Every infraction dealt upon
those that are simply different than us, every life that
is so stupidly taken, out of some perverted sense of patriotism,
will ripple across the globe and fuel the very enemy that
we have pledged to remove from the Earth.
Already
the senseless acts have occurred. An immigrant from India
was killed in his place of business because he wore a turban.
He was not even muslim. This is not a sad isolated incident.
Since that New Day of Infamy, over and over, it has and
is happening. The ignorance and lack of education in this
country is seeping to the top. It can only get worse if
left unchecked. Why? Because our military wil not be the
only one attacking the enemy. The first cowardly blow they
dealt us, will suredly not be the last. It may prove to
be the most damaging, but more American civilians WILL die
before its all over. How could we expect less?
Do
not let those that died on the 11th, or in any attack before
that and in the future, or any of the soldiers, American
or otherwise, that will surely die seeking Infinite Justice...
don't let it be in vain.

Week
of 8-27 thru 9-2...
IKK's
STA 5v5 Gold squad will face off against the Mighty
Few on Tuesday Aug. 21st @9:30 PM Eastern. MF seems
to be made up of quite a few old Ai guys (Danger, Phan,
and Oloff just name a few...). If you don;t know who Ai
was, just know that they were pretty damn good. As always,
we have 5v5 practice on gamenight @8PM Eastern. Let's go
for 2 in a row. All IKK are invited to participate in practice,
and possibly play in the match.
Our
main TFC sqaud will officially begin wiping the sleep from
it's eyes on Monday Aug. 20th, as we begin our new regular
practice schedule. Practice starts promptly @8:30 Eastern.

"DON'T
CALL IT A COMEBACK..." - L.L. Cool J.
IKK
is now holding practices. Monday and Wednesdays at 8:30
PM Eastern, in preparation for our return to active 9v9
TFC league action.
Why
not call it a comeback? 'Cause we never went anywhere. Yeah
we took a breather, but we started a little 5v5 team, and
got ourselves in STA's 5v5 Gold division. We won our two
screening matches and this past Monday beat Black Sun in
a crazy knuckle-whitener, in our into match to Gold competition.
This makes our 5v5 squad UNDEFEATED! How does one contact
Team Germany anyway? :p
